Ebony L. Smith, 22, of Pennsauken, New Jersey, passed away on Tuesday, April 2, 2019, at Virtua Voorhees in Pennsauken, New Jersey. She was born on January 13, 1997 in Long Branch, New Jersey to Albert Jr. and Lyhomma M. Smith.

Ebony was a lifelong resident of New Jersey and attended Neptune schools as well as Brookdale Community College.  She worked for some time as a cashier in Pennsauken, and was an aspiring tattoo artist.

She was predeceased by her daughter, Ave'Hana; paternal grandparents, Melvin and Emma Ingram, and Albert Smith, Sr.  Ebony is survived by her parents, Albert, Jr. and Lyhomma Smith; seven brothers, Terrence, Antonio, Antwan, Alonzo, Albert III, Erik and Kiari; three sisters, Aly'sia, Tracey, and Erika; aunts, Barbara (Will) of Old Bridge, NJ, Cynthia (Roy) of San Diego, California, Poppy of Ocean Township, NJ, Amy of Neptune, NJ, Sandy of Los Angeles, California and Sonia (Jessie) of Neptune, NJ; maternal grandparents, Anna Pettis of Neptune, NJ, and Robert Allen of Asbury Park, NJ; and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.

Ebony fought a long hard battle with Lupus and diabetes. In the midst of all she was going through, she continued to be a ray of sunshine, bringing love, laughter and hope to all who knew and loved her.

God saw you getting weary, so He did what He thought best. He came and
stood beside you and whispered, “Come and rest. You wished no one a last
farewell, nor even said goodbye. You were gone before we knew it, and only
God knows why. When God called you to come and rest, you didn't go
alone, for part of us went with you, the day God took you home. Sleep on
Ebony and take your rest. We all love you, but God knows best.
