Charlene Thomas Obituary

Charlene Letitia Thomas, 46, of Brick, NJ was born on June 11, 1972 in Fitkin Memorial Hospital (JSUMC), Neptune, NJ. She was the youngest child of her parents, Sherman and Ophelia Thomas.  Charlene fell asleep in death on Sunday, November 25, 2018.

Charlene was born and raised in Neptune, NJ and attended Neptune High School.  She was raised as one of Jehovah’s Witnesses and dedicated her life to Jehovah and was baptized on April 2, 1999.  From that time on she served Jehovah to the best of her ability.

The love of Charlene’s life had always been her children.  She was known for sending her children encouraging texts and always letting them know that they were beautiful.  She also loved to dance and sing.  Her children grew up listening to old school music that they still love today.  Dancing and singing in Charlene’s house was constant.

Most people don’t know this, but Charlene wrote poetry.  She was always sending beautiful poetic words to her children.  Often times it was to help them to continue on spiritually. They were the light of her life and she made sure they knew it in word and deed.

Charlene’s loving nature allowed her to take in whoever needed help.  It didn’t matter if you were a family member or a friend in need,  you were allowed to share her home.  If Charlene knew you needed something, she would try to find a way to get it for you even if she herself had nothing.  She loved hard and family meant everything to her.  You can be upset, but it would all blow over quickly because you were family.

Charlene  was happy and engaged to be married this coming year.  She will be missed by all who knew her.

She was predeceased in death by her parents, Sherman and Ophelia Thomas.  Charlene is survived by her children, Jaylin and Brittney Salvador; fiancé, Curtis Showers; sisters, Bonnie Doyle, Zipporah Best, Barbara Doyle, Rosalind Doyle, Lynette Thomas, and Charlotte English; brothers, Sherman Thomas Jr. (Denise), and Gregory Thomas; and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.
