Beverly Taylor Obituary

Beverly Ann Taylor, 75, of Asbury Park, New Jersey passed away on February 25, 2019.  She was born in Neptune, NJ on July 1, 1943 to Everette and Genevieve Taylor, Sr.

She was educated in the Asbury Park School System and received an AA degree in Business Management from Brookdale Community College. Beverly was employed at Bamberger’s and Macy’s Department Stores for over forty years. She worked in all the departments from Juniors to Housewares.  She was a longtime member of Mt. Pisgah Baptist Temple in Asbury Park, NJ, and was a member of the Sunbeam Band and Women’s Choir.  Her favorite scripture was the 23rd Psalm.

Beverly enjoyed coin, stamp and doll collecting. She loved shopping for sales, taking trips (specially to visit family), and playing the lottery. Her favorite number to play was the pick 3, 446. Beverly enjoyed walking, and could she walk fast. When Beverly’s nieces and nephews were younger or would visit, she would walk them all over Asbury Park with them complaining the whole time.

Beverly had a passion for her family. She adored her son, her grandchildren and every one of her nieces and nephews. Ma, Grandma nor Aunt Beverly ever missed a single birthday. The highlight of her day after retirement was spending time with her family. Beverly talked with her sister daily on the phone until her relocation to Maryland with her sister. Every morning she started her day with her gospel music that she played by her bed. She would enjoy a spot of tea with her breakfast.

As Beverly became weaker and weaker, she asked daily for peace and rest.

She was predeceased by her parents, Everette Sr. and Genevieve Taylor; brothers, Robert Taylor Sr. and Everette Taylor Jr.; sister, Joyce Taylor.

She is survived by her sister, Barbara Jean and brother-in-law, Thomas McGriff Sr.; sister-in-law, Lynn Taylor; son, Brandon Sr. and daughter-in-law, Lanece Terry; grandchildren, Brandon Jr., Branaysha and Zeniah Terry, David and Nyonah Holman.

Special mention to all nephews, nieces, great and great great nephews and nieces, Robert Jr. and Kimmy Taylor, Kent and Leslie Taylor, Wayne and Sabrina Taylor, Evelyn and Charles Lawler, Sonya and Norman Miller, Michelle McGriff-Willis, Princess Taylor, Prince Taylor, Kelly Taylor, Early Ford, Kelli Ford, and many more.

Extra special mention to Thomas II and La’Sonia McGriff, Leanna, Claudius, Zeniah, Tha’Mon and Dr. Tahner.
