Ann L. Faniel, 80, of Red Bank, NJ departed this life and went home to be with her Savior on Monday, September 17, 2018, at Bayshore Medical Center, Holmdel, NJ. She was born on June 23, 1938 to the late William and Myrtle Giles of Arrington, VA.
As a young woman, Ann met and married Edison Faniel, and from their union, seven children were born. Ann was employed at Quality Laundry Mat in Irvington, NJ for many years before retiring and relocating to Monmouth County, where she worked part-time as a bus aide.
Ann was a devoted, loving mother and grandmother. She was very protective of her family and she loved family gatherings. Ann was a very independent woman who was full of life and love. She enjoyed taking road trips to her hometown of Lovingston, VA to reunite with siblings and other significant family members.
Most importantly, Ann was a Godly woman who loved serving the Lord. Before relocating to Monmouth County, Ann was a long time member of Second Baptist Church of Perth Amboy, NJ. However, Ann continued to serve her Lord.
She was predeceased by her husband, Edison Faniel; daughter, Pamela Jo Faniel; three sisters, Victoria Fisher, Jenny and Mary Gaines; three brothers, Joseph Giles, Walter Giles, and James Giles.
She is survived by two sons, Edison (Raheem) and wife Michelle (Shirley), and Kevin (Woody); four daughters, Ronnie and spouse Ronald, Lynn and spouse Ronnie, Lisa, and Tiesha (Tish) and husband Beris (David); brothers, Gilbert Giles and wife Dorothy (Dottie) Giles, Ernest Giles and wife Louise Giles, Alex Giles, and Anthony Giles and wife Gwendolyn (Gwenny) Giles; sister-in-laws, Amy Faniel, Joann, and Rosella Faniel; grandchildren, (Pam) Al-Malik w/wife Ronrico, Aneesha (Nee Nee) w/husband Fuquan, (Ronnie) Rashawn, Christian, Jordan, (Edison) Sherard w/wife Shakida, Tyiesha, Nicole, (Tish) Taleel, Omir, and Ari; great-grandchildren, (Al-Malik) Imani, (Aneesha) Skye, (Rashawn) Rashawn, (Sherard) Zafir, Shakur, Londynn, (Tyiesha) Terriah, and Micah; and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends.
