Daryl Lipscomb Obituary

Daryl Carlson Lipscomb of Morrisville, PA passed away in his home on July 8, 2020.  He was born on January 18, 1968 to Helen Lipscomb and the late Robert Lee Gregory.

Daryl graduated from JP Stevens High School, Edison, NJ in June 1986.  He continued his education in Auto Mechanics and later Welding.  Daryl started his 20+ year railroad career with two years at CSX, and later joined the NJ Transit family.  In 2002, Daryl accepted an entry level position as a Carmen, with NJ Transit.  Daryl took time to study his craft, and with his continued concern and love for public safety, he was able to advance his career at (NJT). He later became a Mechanic Foreman, in various rail yards.

Daryl had a multitude of interests and hobbies.  His first love was martial arts, specifically Taekwondo, where he studied the art and won many awards.  Daryl enjoyed watching a variety of sports, he loved football and was an avid Jets fan. He fancied himself a photographer and enjoyed taking photos of his family, nature and his favorite place… the beach.  His favorite holidays were Halloween and Christmas.  He enjoyed listening to music and going to concerts and movies - Star Trek, Star Wars, Marvel series and horror movies were his favorite. 

Daryl was predeceased by his father, Robert Lee Gregory (April 2014).  He is survived by his dedicated life partner, Theresa Smith-Lipscomb of Long Branch, NJ; two daughters, Zoey Lipscomb and Aniyah Allen of Long Branch, NJ; two sons, Joshua Smith (Cait) of Raritan, NJ, and Justin Smith of Long Branch, NJ; granddaughter, Sophia; mother, Helen Lipscomb of Killeen, TX; sisters, Theresa Reed of Killeen, TX, Darlene Coleman (US Army), Germany, and Leigha Grant of Fayetteville, GA; stepmother, Carrie Gregory of Chase City, VA; nieces and nephews, Shamara, Jeffrey, Shalamar, Jasmin, Jaylen, Isaiah, Charmara, Tishawna, Kitana, Alaisiahana, Ja’Miyah, Serenity, Treshaun, Kymani and Liam; host of aunts, uncles, cousins; and life-long friend, Ed Ludwig.
