Hinton Bernard Daye, 83, of Neptune, NJ passed away surrounded by his family on Sunday, November 12, 2017. He was born on April 25, 1934 in Galatia, North Carolina to Arthur Daye and Willie Lee Goode Daye.
He graduated from Willis Hare High School in Pendleton, North Carolina. After graduating, he served in the U.S. Army for two years. Upon leaving the Army, he left North Carolina and relocated to New Jersey.
He was employed by Jersey Central Power and Light Company for 38 years. He was a member of Second Baptist Church of Asbury Park for over 50 years, where he served in various ministries, including Chairman of the Deacon Board. He was a past Master of Mount Pisgah Lodge No. 48 P.H.A. of Asbury Park, New Jersey, past Commander-in-Chief of Samuel W. Gordon Consistory No. 50 of Asbury Park, New Jersey, and past Worthy Patron of Adah Chapter No. 17 O.E.S. Hinton was happily married to his childhood sweetheart, Beaulah for sixty-two and half years.
He was predeceased by his seven sisters; one brother; daughter, Carla and his son-in-law, Juan. He is survived by his wife, Beaulah; two sisters-in-law; two brothers-in-law; two daughters, Paulette Simpson, and Theresa Owens (Charles Jr.), both of Tinton Falls, NJ; son-in-law, Twyman Miller of Connecticut; granddaughters, Nicole Ogunmefun (Paul) of Tinton Falls, NJ, Marlena Halstead (Brandon) of Maryland, Erica Willis (Colin) of Washington, DC, and Leah Miller of Connecticut; grandsons, Twyman Miller of Connecticut, and Myles Owens of Tinton Falls, NJ; great-granddaughter, Kaylyn Love; great-grandson, Paul Ogunmefun; and many cousins, nephews, nieces, and a host of friends.
